Just completed a class project with the Philadelphia based Food Trust and my students at the Art Institute. I was approached by the Executive Assistant & Volunteer Coordinator, Kelly Yerger on behalf of the Night Market event to create a series of social media graphics to be used to recruit volunteers. I thought this would be a great project for my Advertising class and I have to say they really rose to the challenge. Of the 7 student submission Shakema Henley's was selected for her bold use of color, type and information graphics. I am always happy to use "real world" opportunities in the class room and this one proved to be both fun and educational. It also gives the students the chance to connect with events and people who are doing important work to help others, "One of Night Market Philadelphia's main goals is to support the immigrant business owners who make our city's mobile food scene so delicious.
